Game #92: Killer Queen Black
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 15m 33s
Multiplayer - VS: 28m 41s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: September 11, 2021
Game Synopsis: Work as a hive! Collect food, kill the queen, or race a snail in order for your team to come out on top.
Blog: Killer Queen Black is now but a shell of its former glory when it released.
When it was released on Switch back in 2018, I bought it for about $12 and was excited to play. You would always have a match filled with players. It was a game focused on team strategy and multitasking.
The games were set up as a 4 vs 4. Each team with 1 queen and 3 worker bees The games have 3 goals: filling your hive with berries that you can find scattered around the map, killing the other team's queen 3 times, and trying to ride a snail to your team's side. You only need to be successful in one of these in order to win the round.
The queen is special as she can fly around and kill players on the opposing team, including the other queen. The worker bees are special in that they can do everything else. Such as collecting the berries and riding the snail, which the queen can't do. Worker bees can also be promoted to soldiers by taking a berry to a machine and then selecting a weapon. The soldiers get weapons and are able to wipe out enemies on the other team. Be wary however, because just like the queen: soldiers cannot ride the snail or pick up berries. So it's a bit balanced.
The game has a lot involved in it and I would love to play it with a group of people online. Sadly, nowadays the most I get put into a lobby with is 2 other people with a bunch of bots. That's just not as fun.
Unfortunately, the only single player content is the tutorial with the meat of the game being the multiplayer stuff. So in 2021 there's really no need to play this game. That's why I'm rating it a 5/10. It's as high as it is purely because of my enjoyment with the game in its heyday, but it's as low as it is due to an inactive playerbase.
TL;DR: Killer Queen Black is a fun multiplayer-focused game with nearly empty lobbies. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a local group of friends to play it with.

Game #93: Star Fox 2
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 33m 34s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: September 11, 2021
Extra Details: NSO Version
Game Synopsis: The Lylat system is under attack by Andross once again. Defend Corneria and attack the invaders!
Blog: I enjoyed this much more than the original.
The first game had some wonky stuff that felt unfair, such as indistinguishable ally/enemy ships and levels where obstacles would pop out of the ground at random. Star Fox 2 did not have these problems which is great.
I also liked the gameplay concept. In the original game, you were restricted by linear paths. You could choose which one you wanted to take, but there was still an order that you were suppose to take. Star Fox 2 doesn't have that. You can freely choose what you want to go for first. Some options may not be the best to go for, but it's up to the player to determine that.
Dog fight sections are a bit different now. You're now able to go fly in 360 degrees. This is where my biggest flaw with the game is. It's disorienting and the wonky controls make it worse. It's something to get used to but oh man it was a struggle.
There's also newly added sections where your ship is able to walk around on planets and space stations. These parts are pretty fun but also really easy.
The game is also extremely short. Only took me a little over 30 minutes. So if you're hoping a lot out of this game in terms of hours, don't.
The game was quite fun though.
TL;DR: Star Fox 2 improves upon the sequel but its controls could be better and it's pretty short as well.

Game #94: Zip Zap
Platform: Mobile
Main Story: 1h 24m 52s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: September 14, 2021
Game Synopsis: Solve puzzles using physics.
Blog: Zip Zap is a puzzle game where the goal is to cover a circle or multiple circles. In order to maneuver the puzzle, you are in control of orange lines that are able to be contracted and released through pressing and holding on the screen. You need to use these orange lines to your advantage of covering the circles. Sometimes you can use the lines themselves to cover the circles but often times you'll need to use other objects to cover the circles instead such as balls or green lines that you can indirectly control.
It's quite an interesting puzzle game and overall I had fun with it. I do feel that sometimes the physics weren't consistent though or puzzles too aggravating for me.
I did have fun with it, even in despite of the physics.
TL;DR: Zip Zap is a fun game about physics but it can be quite frustrating and inconsistent at times.

Game #95: Bacon: The Game
Platform: Mobile
Main Story: 3h 29m 42s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: October 2, 2021
Game Synopsis: Flip bacon onto different objects.
Blog: Bacon: The Game is another physics based puzzle game. Unlike Zip Zap, this game is much simpler in premise. You flip a piece of bacon on to an object that the game presents.
It's not so much the gameplay that's the focus, rather the objects that are presented to you. The objects can very creative, some even breaking the fourth wall. My favorite one is probably getting bacon on an Twitter thread where it will update with people who have replied to it. It's pretty cool to see.
Now, it's not all great in my opinion. For one thing, there's ads. Ads that can show up in offline mode too, so you can't get rid of them. Sometimes the ads even cause the game to lag, and for whatever reason when trying to flip the bacon, it doesn't act as it should anymore. Sometimes it gets tangled up before it gets onto the frying pan, sometimes the momentum is lost in midair. The lag is just infuriating and even more so when there's such a dramatic impact on the gameplay.
The game has good, simple ideas but the ads ruin an otherwise fine game.
TL;DR: Bacon: The Game is a basic, fun game but the ads can ruin the gameplay experience with lag.

Game #96: The White Door
Platform: Mobile
Main + Extras: 2h 14m 32s
100% Complete: 2h 42m 30s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: October 2, 2021
Game Synopsis: Recover your memories.
Blog: This game was a trip.
I don't want to spoil too much about this game so I'm going to be as vague as possible while still giving critiques and compliments.
The story was interesting and deep. You play as a man who lost his memories, and basically trying to remember who you once were. The story is so intriguing as it goes along and is the main reason I lost track of the time as I continued playing.
The art style was also very pretty and simple. It worked well with the game's atmosphere.
One thing that bothered me was that the touch controls were finicky at times. It was fine when just simply tapping something, but there are times where you need to swipe something and it doesn't always do that. It wasn't a problem with my phone so I don't understand what happened exactly or why I was having these issues. Quite an irritating experience.
The game is still a great time and I recommend it for the story.
TL;DR: The White Door has such a great and deep narrative, but the touch controls leave much to be desired.

Game #97: Lost Lands: Dark Overlord
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 6h 7m 26s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: September 15, 2021
Game Synopsis: A woman's son has been kidnapped and brought into a dark fantasy world. Follow the woman on her adventures to get back her son.
Blog: Lost Lands: Dark Overlord is a free point-and-click game for the Switch.
It's not a bad game, and it's actually quite lengthy for what I thought would be a pretty short game. I didn't feel like any of the puzzles were too difficult. There were times where I had gotten stuck but I would usually rest for a day, come back the next day and solve it.
There are microtransactions, specifically there are microtransactions for hints. I didn't pay too much attention to those however, I didn't feel like I needed any hints and they never really got in your face about buying their stuff either.
One thing is for sure though, this game is kinda ugly looking, especially the character designs. There's also the cutscenes throughout the game, the animations are really bad, and the voice acting is also bad being so dull and void of life.
I actually rather enjoyed my time with this game though. I normally don't do that with free Switch games.
TL;DR: Lost Lands: Dark Overlord is a pretty good point and click game. I recommend it for those who are interested, especially since it's free.

Game #98: Fighting EX Layer Another Dash
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 27m 23s
Rating: 4/10
Date Completed: September 30, 2021
Game Synopsis: Fight fighters in a fighting game.
Blog: Keep in mind that I am reviewing the free version, which didn't give me a lot of access to features that you could get in the paid version. I did however play the arcade mode.
I don't really have much good to say about Fighting EX Layer Another Dash. It just didn't stand out to me as a fighting game. I thought the movement felt weird, I wish the free version allowed me access to the training mode so I can have a better grasp of what I'm doing with the controls.
Maybe the full game is better, but this demo did not leave a good impression.

Game #99: PAC-MAN 99
Platform: Switch
Multiplayer - VS: 33m 53s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: September 30, 2021
Game Synopsis: Pac-Man online battle royale!!
Blog: You know I had to put this as game 99.
PAC-MAN 99 feels like a short-lived, one trick pony. Unlike its predecessor Tetris 99, this one just doesn't feel anywhere near as good or fun.
It's a cute idea, don't get me wrong. The gameplay just feels really stale though, and where Tetris you could unlock new backgrounds (although I believe most are restricted to limited time events), you had to buy them in Pac-Man. Which is not as good. I wish it were more fun.
TL;DR: PAC-MAN 99 tried following the trend of battle royale games, but this one came too late and wasn't very fun.

Game #100: WarioWare: Get it Together!
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 2h 5m 39s
Main + Extras: 9h 37m 57s
Rating: 8/10
Date Completed: September 29, 2021
Game Synopsis: Wario and his friends are sucked into the game he developed. Help them escape by playing wacky minigames.
Blog: WarioWare: Get it Together is my first WarioWare game, and it is a fun mini game collection filled with lots of chaos.
The minigames are lots of fun, and there seem to be themes for each group of minigames. Some are based on food, chores, sports, etc. There's even one based on Nintendo games which is my favorite one as it pulls from things such as Breath of the Wild and Fire Emblem Three Houses. Really cool to see that.
As I said before, I've never played a WarioWare but from what I understand this one's control scheme works a bit different. You have the whole WarioWare cast to choose from as your character in the minigames, and each one has their own gimmick. Some are able to bash from the side, some are able to jump really high. It's really varied. Some characters work better at certain minigames than others. One thing is for sure though: 9-Volt sucks don't ever pick him.
I wish there was more single player content though. There is the story mode which is fun and goofy, but after that it's just playing the same minigames and hoping you get enough in-money to get art of your favorite characters.
This does have a big focus on multiplayer but I don't have anyone to play with. :(
WarioWare is a good time, but it was short lived.

Game #101: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Platform: Gameboy Color
Main + Extras: 17h 10m 8s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: September 29, 2021
Game Synopsis: Link needs to take the power of the seasons and use it to rescue Din and the rest of Holodrum.
Blog: This is like Oracle of Ages but with Seasons.
I felt very mixed with this game. It has fun parts but it was at a very slow crawl and not without some downs.
I hated that I had to stop, pause, and switch items around for what felt like every minute. This game is 50% play, 50% going through the menu.
I felt lost a lot of the time, I wish there was a bit more structure. Even the story, what little there is, doesn't really help you much.
Bosses were annoying but manageable for the most part. I honestly had more trouble with the mini bosses. Certain enemies were also fairly annoying.
One issue I have; when you "beat" the game the initial time you do, you don't truly beat it. In order to truly beat it, you must grab a code from Oracle of Ages. That's cool, but you have to start over from the very beginning if you want to use the code to beat the "true" final boss. I was not happy when I found that out.
I do like the theme of changing seasons though, it's a unique theme that games don't really ever tackle.
If you like Gameboy games, you might like it; but this was definitely one of my least favorite Zelda games.
TL;DR: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons can be fun but also very annoying and unfun at times with its pacing.

Game #102: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Platform: Gameboy Color
Main + Extras: 17h 14m 25s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: September 29, 2021
Game Synopsis: Link needs to take the power of the seasons and use it to rescue Nayru and the rest of Labrynna.
Blog: This is like Oracle of Seasons but with Ages.
I realize that this game is pretty much the same as Seasons. The bosses are annoying, the item management slows the game down, you need to start over for the true ending. It's all the same song and dance.
However I would say this version sets itself apart in 2 ways.
The first: there's an actual comprehensible story. In Seasons, the main bad guy shows up, kidnaps the girl, and you never see either of them again until the end. He negatively effects the weather but that's about all you hear or see. In Ages, you constantly see the main bad guy and the girl, there's a lot more dialogue and interaction between main characters. It's so much better than Seasons.
The second: There's so much more backtracking. Uh oh, stranded on an island and lost your items? Better blindly walk around back and forth to get them back. On Goron Mountain? Blindly walk back and forth while also changing the past and future. It's not fun and slows the game even more. I guess that's why it's called Ages.
There's also the main theme being centered around time. Which isn't a very unique concept similar to Seasons and wasn't even the first Zelda game to use time as a theme.
Again, if you like Gameboy games you'll like it. I didn't so much.

Main + Extras: 14h 20m 9s
Rating: 9/10
Date Completed: October 4, 2021
Extra Details: Bioshock Collection
Game Synopsis: Return to the city of Rapture once more, but this time as a Big Daddy
Blog: Bioshock was a wonderful game. Will the sequel live up to that greatness?
For the most part I'd say it does.
The gameplay seems better in every possible way. Adding new plasmids and gene tonics to add to your arsenal, as well as new melee abilities.
I'm glad that hacking was changed. In the first game it used a puzzle in which you have to swap pieces around to get water from one end to the other, it wasn't very good and there have been times where it was straight up impossible to complete the puzzle. In Bioshock 2, it's a very easily achievable meter that goes back and forth in which you need to hit the green or blue and ignore other colors. It stays simple and fair, while also ramping up the difficulty of hitting the green later on.
One addition is you're able to help the little sisters gain more Adam for you to use, but must defend her for a small amount of time while enemies come at you. People didn't seem to like this so much, but personally it seemed fine to me. I had no qualms with it and it allowed me to strategize how to go about defending.
One thing that isn't as comparable is the story. The Bioshock 2 story is great, but it doesn't live up to the original and is unfortunately left in its shadow. I think it has some to do with Bioshock having set up the world for the first time and giving those initial feelings. The sequel doesn't have that.
One other thing, and it's rather nitpicky but I feel it's important: the captions don't match up with the dialogue. Sometimes it's way behind, sometimes entire lines are missed. As a hearing person I have the privilege of also hearing the story and seeing it put together. For anyone deaf or hard-of-hearing, they may miss some context in the story because the captions aren't delivering that same quality. That's a damn shame and is such an easy fix too.
Other than those: Bioshock 2 is a fun time to be had.
TL;DR: Bioshock 2's gameplay improves the original's. The only thing it does worse is the story is just not as impactful, and the captions aren't very good.

Hmm... personally I preferred the original BioShock to the 2nd one. Only reason being is that BioShock 2 to me was more of the same, except you were a Big Daddy instead so I feel that it suffers as a result (my personal rating 7/10). This game overall is my least favourite in the BioShock series (1 being my favourite and Infinite pretty close). Not to say this game is bad, it's still pretty solid. But I felt that it was reusing a lot of features from the first game. Just my take though.

DLC/Expansion #4: Bioshock 2 - Protector Trials
Game: Bioshock 2
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 1h 35m 12s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: October 04, 2021
Synopsis: Protect the little sister from enemies as she gathers ADAM.
Blog: The Protector Trials is basically a game mode based all around those sections from the main game where you protect the Little Sisters.
While I didn't mind them in the main game, I did not enjoy them enough to like this mode.
I think it's neat that you were given a select few weapon and plasmid combinations for the different missions that I may not have had an opportunity to use in the main game. It doesn't really make the Protector Trials any less tedious and frustrating.
And really, the mode isn't any deeper than that. Unfortunate.
TL;DR: The Protector Trials is a game mode about protecting the Little Sisters. I recommend skipping it to not deal with the tedium.

DLC/Expansion #5: Bioshock 2 - Minerva's Den
Game: Bioshock 2
Platform: Switch
Main + Extras: 4h 27m 54s
Rating: 10/10
Date Completed: October 05, 2021
Synopsis: Head into Minerva's Den with a mission from a scientist.
Blog: Now this is how DLC should be done.
Minerva's Den follows a Big Daddy, with little or no connection to the main characters from Bioshock 1 or the main campaign of Bioshock 2. Minerva's Den has less stakes story-wise compared to the main campaigns of the other games, but I would say it still holds its own in that regard and is even better than 2's.
The DLC also introduces new weapons, plasmids, and also enemies. The weapons and plasmids are fun to use and mess around with. The enemies are also pretty challenging but fair.
This was awesome and I don't want to say much more as it's worthwhile to play on your own, since it's pretty short too.
TL;DR: Minerva's Den improves the value of Bioshock 2 and I highly recommend it for anyone remotely interested.

Yeah that's fair. I think because I played the first so recently that I didn't really have a problem with the sequel being similar. I do feel like the gameplay was improved, but maybe I don't remember the first one that well.

No you're probably right in saying that the gameplay of 2 is better than 1. It's been a while, so I couldn't accurately tell you. But then, I'm also a big story nerd, so if the story doesn't immerse me, my entertainment begins to falter. Maybe that was the reason why I thought it was weaker. Who knows. Still liked it, just not as much as 1 :3

Game #104: Little Nightmares
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 3h 42m 2s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: October 7, 2021
Game Synopsis: Play as a young child and escape a terrifying place full of huge, misshapen characters.
Blog: Little Nightmares is a cute little game and I've never been more relaxed
Just kidding, it's kind of terrifying and stressful in places.
This is not a game that will scare you at every corner. It's largely an atmospheric horror than anything else and it really embraces that. It gets intense when it wants to be, and backs off when it should to let things settle in.
The gameplay is also pretty good most of the time. It relies you to think of every room like a puzzle. I say it's good most of the time because sometimes the perspective of the camera can be very screwy at times with what you're doing and messed me up way more times than I'd like to admit. It's especially bad when crossing a narrow pathway in which one wrong step could send you plummeting off a cliff.
One problem exclusive to the Switch version is really long loading times. This is a game where you will likely die multiple times, and the last thing you want to do is spend that time forever waiting for the game to start back up only for you to die straightaway.
Little Nightmares has it's problems but I recommend it all the same. Just play on something other than Switch if you can.
TL;DR: Little Nightmares is a great game, but the camera perspective and Switch load times hold it back from being something I'd recommend in its entirety.

Ooh Little Nightmares. SUCH a good game. Definitely agree on the atmospheric horror aspect and with your issues regarding the camera angles. I haven't played it on Switch as I've played it on PC, so I haven't experienced the loading time issues of which I'm quite thankful for. Really neat game, glad you liked it too for the most part :3

DLC/Expansion #6: Little Nightmares - The Depths
Game: Little Nightmares
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 1h 13m 2s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: October 07, 2021
Synopsis: Play as the Kid and traverse dark waters.
Blog: I didn't like this.
The Depths is one of three DLC chapters for Little Nightmares and it's easily the worst one.
First off, it doesn't add anything to the main game. The other chapters do with adding more information to the story, but this one doesn't do any of that.
Even the gameplay doesn't feel as interesting as the main game. This one focuses on swimming through the water as fast as you can to escape a creature. However since it's swimming, the game feels like it's at a much slower pace than what it should.
It also doesn't help that it feels that the deaths are rather cheap at times with the creature being in spots where it was clearly somewhere else a moment ago.
And don't forget that the long loading times on Switch are still as prominent here as the base game. So that doesn't help at all.
It's still Little Nightmares at it's core so it can still be fun but The Depths was awful.
TL;DR: The Depths is the worst thing about Little Nightmares that I wish could be skipped. It's still Little Nightmares fundamentally though.

DLC/Expansion #7: Little Nightmares - The Hideaway
Game: Little Nightmares
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 1h 12m 51s
Rating: 6/10
Date Completed: October 07, 2021
Synopsis: Play as the kid and help him use gnomes to escape the Hideaway.
Blog: This was much better than the Depths.
This one's great to what it adds to the story. It shows the nomes and how helpful they are when meeting the kid and how they function.
The pace is much better overall but there's still one section that sucks: the dark area. There's one place where you need to traverse the other side of an extremely dark room, and you do this twice. There's also a long-armed creature in there that will catch you if you make too much noise or bump into it. It really sucks because of just how hard it is to see.
Other than that, I enjoyed the puzzles involving the nomes. Those were fun.
TL;DR: The Hideaways is better than the Depths by far, but the inclusion of the dark room brings it down.
----------------
DLC/Expansion #8: Little Nightmares - The Residence
Game: Little Nightmares
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 58m 23s
Rating: 6/10
Date Completed: October 07, 2021
Synopsis: Play as the kid, and find a way out of the Residence.
Blog: The best of the 3 DLCs, but not by much.
This was a neat one. I enjoyed the puzzles to this one, even if some of them were pretty confusing. I also really enjoyed the story of this one and how it leads into the main campaign. I won't get too much into that because it's best you find out yourself.
However, one really annoying section that I hated was what I like to call the "Luigi's Mansion" section where there are shadowy enemies coming at you and you need to shine your light on them for a long time. This just goes on for waaaaay to long and I don't enjoy it.
The rest though is very good, but the Luigi's Mansion part takes up a good chunk.
TL;DR: The Residence is the best chapter of the three DLCs and I recommend it for the story section. The "Luigi's Mansion" section sucks though.

Game #105: Limbo
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 2h 13m 5s
Rating: 7/10
Date Completed: October 9, 2021
Game Synopsis: Help a young boy traverse a dark world.
Blog: I think everyone else loves this game more than I do.
It's definitely not a bad game by any means. I gave it a 7 after all which I consider to be a good game.
The artstyle is unique and eerie, the puzzles were mostly great, and the controls worked as they should.
One of my problems is that I feel like after a certain point, specifically after dealing with the spider, the game feels a bit slow and begins to drag. Before that it was an intense feeling and for me that was suppose to set the tone for the rest of the game. Which it didn't and I felt rather disappointed by that.
Puzzles are great as I've said before, but near the end the game introduces puzzles based around gravity. I hated these. It was confusing the moment you got there on what you were suppose to interact with, sometimes it felt like I had to die in order to figure out what the hell I was doing which just felt cheap.
So aside from pacing and the gravity puzzles near the end of the game, Limbo is quite a good time.
TL;DR: Limbo doesn't make me feel like I'm going through Limbo. But I wish the pacing was better and the puzzles near the end gave a better initial idea.

Game #106: Metroid Dread
Platform: Switch
Main + Extras: 11h 27m 30s
Rating: 10/10
Date Completed: October 16, 2021
Game Synopsis: Samus finds herself on planet ZDR for a mission but soon realizes she's in a lot of trouble.
Blog: Game of the year for 2021 right here.
Everything about Metroid Dread was just perfect to me. The movement felt fluid and amazing. The sound design along with the background and foreground made the atmosphere for each section. Taking down bosses felt satisfying, and whenever I died I didn't feel upset or cheated. I know people didn't like the E.M.M.I.s that would hunt you down in their own confined sections but I really rather liked them and found them challenging and fun. They gave me a sense of... Dread.
To me, this is the best Metroid game I've played. I know that probably doesn't mean much since I'm still fairly new to the Metroid series and have only ever played 3 other Metroid games (NES, Super, and Fusion) but this game is just so good. I'd even consider it as my favorite Switch game. It just does a lot right and very little wrong to me.
Metroid Dread is great, and Samus has never been more of a bad ass.
TL;DR: Metroid Dread is a must have for any Switch owner.

Game #107: She Sees Red
Platform: Switch
Main Story: 33m 48s
Main + Extras: 1h 4m 7s
Rating: 5/10
Date Completed: October 16, 2021
Game Synopsis: A detective is hired to scan a crime scene and figure out where the murderer went.
Blog: Back to talking about games no one has ever heard of.
She Sees Red is a FMV game from Ukraine, where you have choices that could change the outcome of the game. The game makes it seem as if you're in control of the detective, but you're actually making decisions for the killer and his route.
It sounds interesting, but to be honest I didn't really care for the story. I played through it twice with entirely different choices and I couldn't understand what was going on or what the motives of some of the characters were. It just didn't seem very understandable to me.
One cool thing the game does is that you can choose if you want to hear the dialogue dubbed in English or if you'd rather listen to the original Ukraine version you can as well.
I do want to add as well that the actors played their parts well and I thought they were very good at their parts, even if I didn't understand the characters themselves most of the time.
That's pretty much all there is to the game without getting too much into spoilers. Interesting in concept, but not as interesting when you actually get into it.
TL;DR: She Sees Red is a very intriguing FMV game when viewed from the outside but doesn't actually deliver much of interest. The actors were great though.

Game #108: Alien: Isolation
Platform: Switch
Main + Extras: 17h 4m 47s
Rating: 6/10
Date Completed: November 5, 2021
Game Synopsis: Take control of Amanda Ripley, who's on a mission to escape the horrors of Sevastopol Station and find out what happened to her lost mother.
Blog: I have never seen an Alien movie. So take everything I'm about to say with a grain of salt.
I felt that Alien: Isolation had a great first half, and then a second half that could and should have been more condensed.
The first half had a few hiccups for me, I even had one instance where a glitch caused me to have to die because I killed a person but couldn't move past the body, so I was caught and died. It was smooth sailing for the most part though.
The second part like I said starts to drag. It also stops focusing on the Alien for a huge chunk of the game on an enemy that's nowhere near as cool or interesting, but I won't talk about that too much in case it's considered to be a spoiler.
Even the parts near the second half where the Alien was around, those weren't exactly my favorite parts. Especially when they started to throw tons and tons of facehuggers at the player, which can insta-kill if you mess up a swing of your wrench. You also can't hit them when kneeling which seems more like an oversight.
One last complaint, and this is honestly more of a nitpick, when starting the game it has a lot of logos from all the companies that worked on it. That's great and they should all be there. But why on earth am I not able to skip them? It takes up so much time with there being so many. I feel like even back in 2014 when the original was released I feel like skipping intro logos was common place in games.
That being said, Alien: Isolation was still a fun time overall and I wouldn't mind playing it again... but I'll probably stop playing it halfway in.
TL;DR: Alien: Isolation is a fun game with tense moments, but some of the fat could have been trimmed.

I agree totally, the game was good but needed to be maybe half as long as it was. Thankfully on PC one can hide the intro movies. Do you often jump around between games you're playing on Switch? I typically just go to sleep or to the Home menu rather than closing the game.

Main Story - Last Survivor: 21m 8s

Synopsis: Both DLCs have you playing through parts of the original Alien movies.
Blog: I have the same thing to say for both of these expansions, which is why I've combined them for one review.
I feel like if you've seen the movies, you'll enjoy this more than I, someone who has not seen the movies.
That's fine and all, and since you play as Amanda Ripley in the base game anyway, it sort of shows you what happened to her mother Ellen Ripley as both DLCs have her in it as a playable character, or in the case of Crew Expendable, the option to play as her or the other crew members.
My issue with both of these is that they're extremely short. Just a little over 20 minutes for each. I kinda wish they were longer and had more to offer in the gameplay. They felt like short sections that you'd find in the main game.
There's just not a whole lot going on for me in these DLCs to warrant wanting to play again in favor or in addition of the base game.
TL;DR: Crew Expendable and Last Survivor were DLCs created with the original movies in mind. But they're just so extremely short.
