Does it only count people who've logged in/been active within a certain time period when generating stats or something? I noticed some people were missing from the various stats pages, but their accounts still existed when I tried going to their user pages manually (i.e. loading https://howlongtobeat.com/user.php?n=[user]). Unless there's some very strange bug, that's the only explanation I can come up with. Made me wonder where some of them had run off to too, but it is a mystery.

Are you looking for something specific? Currently, when you click on your avatar on the top right it will highlight friends or messages if you have one that is unread.

Can you PM a user as an example? The only thing that should be affected is when a user is set to "Private", and that shouldn't affect overall game times, they just won't be visible on the completions tab.

EDIT: I thought you meant on the game pages themselves. Yes, the stat page only shows users that have been active in the last 90 days. This was so that new comers could have potential to be in the top boards and it wasn't a static list of a bunch people that don't use the site.

I can't speak on Everdred's behalf, but I can see this being hard to implement. Lots of games don't have difficulty options and even among the games that do have difficulty options there isn't a lot of consistency... some are just Normal and Hard, some are Easy and Normal, some have a dozen difficulties that all have silly names. Best bet is just to write in the difficulty in the playthrough notes when you submit I think.

burningsoup is correct. I put a lot of thought into adding it a couple years back but there are simply too many variations in difficulty. Some games have up to 5 different settings, not to mention they are often named very differently.

I mean u can just insert an option like..
Difficulty :_________
And players can type whatever they want...
Difficulty : Hard or....... Whatever

Is it possible to add platforms steam/origin/Uplay when adding a game, it would be easier to find other people with the same game on the same platform.

Atleast in my opinion i see them as a platform as you cant play it without them activated.

All extra information when submitting a completion is not required so neither would the difficulty setting. There is already a "notes" where people can add information (like difficulty) if they so desired, so I don't think adding the "Difficulty :_________" would really get many more people to add it. Plus, most would likely not even remember what the name of the difficulty setting was (the days of just "easy, normal, hard" are long gone and every game these days just has to have their own goofy names for each tier).

The only way I think it could conceivably work is if there was a sort of "scale" the user could pick from that applied across all games (like a 1-5 scale) and they picked somewhere on the scale to indicate the difficulty they chose. But I don't think many would use it and that would also mean the admin would have to make another system on top of that to make the information even usable (ie being able to break down completion times by difficulty). We don't even have a breakdown like that for replays vs first plays (which can have a significant impact on playtime) so having something like that for difficulty seems to be way more work than it would be worth.

Press the black box, or else highlight the spoiler to see it without pressing

If you are on mobile, that would be why you can't remove the spoiler block. It seems it doesn't work on mobile phones (or at least never has for me).

I just tried highlighting it again to double check and it didn't work in Safari or Chrome. I'm using an iPhone but I'm switching to android soon, so maybe it will work then.

Is it possible to somehow delete forum posts? I managed to triple post in the "What movies have you watched recently?" thread.

I was checking out the Star Fox Zero page to see if anybody had put up a time and I noticed there was a submission with a completion date of April 2 when the game didn't have its first release until yesterday. I'll give the user the benefit of the doubt that maybe they meant to enter in "22" but only pressed "2" once (even though their "Date - Updated" for it was April 5, which is a bit sketch) but still, I was wondering if there was any way that the database could crosscheck between the completion date and the release date (if one exists on that game's page) and give an error message if they enter in a date before the release date? Also, if a user tries to submit a completion with a date in the future maybe get it to crosscheck that with the current date? Idk how feasible that is, and I suppose people could just opt out of providing a completion date altogether, but it might cut back on bogus entries at least a little bit.

How would that work with different time zones? As I'm writing this, it's the 23rd of April right now here and still the 22nd in USA.

I deleted them.

Thanks!

I think in fairness, the timezone would probably have to be set to wherever in the world is "furthest in time." But I wonder, the site already tracks the current date since it autofills on the completion form... no clue if that's done using one standard time zone or if it gets the user's metadata or what.
