RE is back to being king of survival horror.

Good
- A good follow up to RE7 story
- The presentation is virtually flawless.
- huge improvement on the variety of enemies in the game, compared to the repetitive black sludges in RE7.
- the villains are interesting af.
- The themes were varied, from spooky to disgusting and everything in between.
- Chris' appearance is back to normal
- More tie in with original story like Chris, Umbrella, and BSAA
- Funny merchant
- puzzles were not too complicated and pretty interesting for the most part.
- weapons feel great to use. The amount of ammo had the right level of scarcity
- the environment design was fantastic
- the voice acting, camera control, and the character movements were great

Bad
- really small things. Like a bullet being able to knock a lamp into full swing is unrealistic making the puzzle a little hard to figure out. There was one part where yellow paint was misused tractor shovels in the ventilation in the factory, making me confused as to where to go.

Can’t speak highly enough of this. It will probably go down as my favourite game of all time and I’ll never forget my first playthrough.

It literally feels as though you are sitting through an interactive horror game.

This was a basic playthrough so I’m looking forward to taking in the DLC and going through the achievements in the future!

This game is visually amazing. The sound design is incredible. The story is fantastic with a host of great villians.

After playing all Resident Evils, except Code Veronica, I think this is equal to or better than RE1 HD Remake which has long been my favorite in the series. This game is extremely immersive and has just the right amount of scares. I really like the direction the series has gone since Resident Evil 7 Biohazard.

EXCELLENT game and well worth the $15 I paid for it during a Steam sale.

What can I say about this delightful game? I finished and another void of sadness accumulates over me... what an ending my friends, what an ending...

Let's start with the story. The story is cool at first, mysterious and even crazy even though it's Resident Evil, you expect crazy things but this is absurd. The story is well crafted, better crafted than 7 in my opinion. Ethan practically becomes another person, he is less cold and more expressive. Maybe Capcom realized this mistake they made in his personality. He looked like a simple Call of Duty character, you know? But here he is an emotional human being, I loved this change. And what an ending, right? I didn't expect all that, it was a shock...

The gameplay is also very good, it reminds me a lot of RE4. It has a lot of ammunition and a lot of enemies, unlike 7 which has limited ammunition and practically 3 types of enemy. The system, weapons, enemy AI are very good. And first person is very good. The boss fights are good too but that's what I always say, my opinion, I don't like super giant monsters full of eyes and flesh on their bodies... It was a sin what they did to Dimitrescu and Heisenberg...

The graphics are ABSURD, very beautiful, which makes the texture and designs very good and creates a totally transformative environment, especially in the village and Castle Dimitrescu, which in my opinion are the most beautiful places in the game. The level design is very good too, Resident Evil standards, they are always very good.

The soundtrack is very good but for me there should have been a little more horror throughout the game, I always think that music is the main thing in creating terror, fear and anxiety. A good example is Donna Beneviento's part, where the soundtrack is absurd...

That's it, a great game, it's a shame I beat it too quickly... I highly recommend it.

• Story 8/10

• Gameplay 9/10

• Graphics 9/10

• Soundtrack 7.8/10

💊 Game overall 8.6/10💊

Resident Evil Village is a game that reaffirms the excellent path Capcom has been taking since the creation of the RE Engine. It's a magnificent game and a very good Resident Evil. It features brilliant and charismatic characters, epic moments, parts of the story that left me stunned, good gameplay, atmosphere, etc. If you thought an RE game with lycans and vampire women was a crazy idea, you were wrong.

Personally, my favorite is still 7. I find it almost unbeatable for several factors. This game, being a direct sequel, doesn't reach its greatness, although it has some plot implications that left me absolutely amazed and made me see 7 in a new light, and now I like it more. Anyway, it's a great game and I recommend it to everyone. There are a couple of areas, like the factory and House Beneviento, that are masterful.

"Resident Evil: Village" is a chilling continuation of the beloved Resident Evil franchise, presenting players with an eerie tapestry of horror-inspired bosses from witch-like sisters and the colossal Lady Dimitrescu to the unsettling talking doll. Central to the game’s allure is the enigmatic Mother Miranda, whose corrupted maternal instincts serve as a captivating narrative hook. Infused with character designs inspired by classic monsters, this game is a thrill to play around the Halloween season.

The game's visuals are a testament to the technical prowess of modern gaming. Whether it's the gothic aura of the castle or the foreboding atmosphere of the village, the detailed level design is a sight to behold. Light and shadow play masterfully across environments, with the flashlight's realism adding depth to the immersive experience.

The gameplay is equally enthralling, especially with the VR support. While the VR was a secondary consideration, the game is one of just a few triple A titles in VR at the time of writing this. The act of grabbing weapons feels natural, and hurling knives in VR is quite enjoyable. This immersive experience is further elevated by an intuitive map system that updates in real-time as rooms are cleared of items.

Yet, a minor hitch arises when navigating certain sequences in VR. The boat controls in VR could be smoother, and the transition from VR gameplay to non-VR cutscenes can be jarring.

Narratively, the game hits all the right notes. The story compels players forward, balancing moments of sheer terror with intrigue. The inclusion of The Duke, with his quirky humor, provides a delightful reprieve from the relentless tension.

The introduction of recipe-making for permanent stat upgrades is an innovative mechanic for the series, but it needed clearer indications. For instance, a warning when attempting to sell essential items for these recipes would have been helpful. Admittedly, I sold some fish early on, not realizing their significance in crafting these upgrades.

In conclusion, "Resident Evil: Village" stands tall as an epitome of horror gaming, blending meticulous visuals, compelling gameplay, and an engaging story. The VR components, while having room for improvement, are not bad. A must-play for any horror game enthusiast.

Great art direction and the gameplay is solid for the most part, unfortunately the story isn't on the same level, with a Scooby-Doo like twist! The bosses are pretty disappointing for the majority except a couple.
The only good things are art and action! RE3 Remake has more intense moments than this one!

The game is gorgeous, full of details, finds to make, the feeling of freedom is good without being overwhelming. There a lot of things to discover if you want to do the game at 100% but you can also run straight and enjoy a great story.

Combats are very good, weapons are amazing and so much fun to upgrade.

This is a good game, weaker than re7 imo but still a good game. Started off strong, village, castle, haunted house and reservoir were all good level designs. The stronghold was alright but I really hated the factory. Not only did I feel that it dragged out towards the end but the factory felt very out of place with everything else. I preferred re7 because it was more horror than action, unlike this. But this game had some good merits like graphical showcase and gameplay. Story was alright, goofy ahh plot that you've come to expect from a resident evil game.

I will not lie: I was expecting a lot more from this game. It starts with a great scene, but in the moment you gain control, the game feels so empty and the Village is really boring to explore. The game have good moments, like running from Lady Dimitrescu and the fight against Donna Beneviento, but lacks big moments. Until the near end of the game I was bored to death, almost giving up. The history only shows something important almost at the end. A good point of the game: sound. It's incredible how it works perfectly in each moment we have, even if it's the monsters coming or an object hitting the ground. It's a good game, but I was really expecting a step forward, not a backward one.

Gameplay 3/3 the main game is another outstanding resident evil gameplay experience. The survival is thrilling for a first time playthrough and fun for a village of shadows second run once that mode is unlocked. The enemy and weapon variety is very good.
Story 3/3 the story is outstanding yet again
Visuals 2/2 the variety of locations and enemies makes everything fun to explore.
Audio 2/2 the voice acting is excellent and the music when present is very strong too.

Highly recommend 100% completion of a single playthrough for the gameplay and story. And dlc too.
Repeating playthroughs to reach 100% for the challenges and playing the mercenaries mode not necessarily worth doing.

Sensacional

+ gráficos lindíssimos
+ Fácil de pegar o jeito
+ ambientação e clima tenso
+ Vários inimigos ao longo do game
+ Personagens bem trabalhados

- Dificuldade alta no começo do jogo
- controle pesado no pc
- Queria mais de alguns vilões
