A introdução do time Babylon foi muito legal. Uma pena a Sega não dar importância para o Jet.Updated 1.5 Weeks Ago

Extremely underrated. The game has a lot of depth to its racing, with jump charging, meter management, trick timing, and pathfinding all playing major parts in the gameplay. Neither the game nor manual explains what is going on too well, so I think that's why a lot of people, myself included, brushed this off as a weird sonic game that was confusing and not that great. However, I learned more about how to actually play the game from other people and then started having a LOAD of fun. If you like games that are like that, this is definitely something worth playing. The course aesthetics and music kick so much ass too, every course is a rollercoaster of setpieces and spectacles. Story was okay. When learned properly, this game is a ton of fun and one of the most unique racing games I've seen.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

A solid racing game with a ton of interesting mechanics, as well as a surprising amount of depth. Had a lot of fun with this when I was younger.Updated 3 Years Ago

It's a very nostalgic game for me, I have been playing it since release back in 2006. The game holds up extremely well, but the difficulty curve is very very obnoxious to new playersUpdated 3.5 Years Ago

I consider this game to be very problematic, but not altogether bad. This game is not beginner-friendly; you are going to need to put some work in in order to become competent. The tutorial misses a few things you will need to understand the game fully, like strafing while in turbulence to speed up, how to get onto a rail, that your flying controls are inverted, and how the items work. But once you have it down, there's a lot of fun to be had. A lot of on-the-fly strategy is necessary to be victorious, but although the overall strategy and mechanics are extensive and excellent, three problems hurt it:1. The controls are a bit too floaty
2. The AI rubberbanding is forceful and can be aggravating
3. The tracks are just a bit too short to allow the strategy to flourish
The story is a bit underwhelming, at least for me. I didn't think the treasure at the end was worth it, but maybe it's more fleshed out in its sequel. The voice acting, for me, was aggravating, but the development is alright.
Completing the game can be an touch frustrating. The missions took some getting used to, but weren't too much trouble in the end. Buying all of the gears is a grind, and acquiring all of the junk to restore some of the gears is the same. Getting gold in the Grand Prix requires at least four 1st-place finishes and one 2nd-place finish, and if you've developed your skills, it shouldn't be too hard.
Overall, I acknowledge that the game has many flaws, but I have an appreciation for it. I am curious if its sequel is better, but that will be a while before I get to it.

Sonic Riders has its moments and I think that some diehard fans of SEGA's mascots will be able to appreciate these instances more than anybody else. Whizzing forward at a fast jaunt, catching some air, landing into a turbulence system and blazing along can be a fun and entertaining undertaking. Meanwhile, purists looking for a big selection of characters and a new Sonic storyline, although thin, will definitely find both waiting for them in this new racer. Sonic Team has with Riders cut out the tedious exploration elements found in previous hedgehog outings and instead tried for a game almost entirely centered on rollercoaster thrills and speed – and I admire that. But some silly and unnecessary design choices remain. Sonic is one of the fastest videogame mascots alive, so why has he been made to ride a sluggish snowboard in this new racer? I could forgive this were it not for the fact that Riders is neither as fast as a game like F-Zero GX, nor as tight or deep as a snowboarder like SSX. It lacks the beauty of both aforementioned racers, too. What we're left with is a game that arrives as a mildly enjoyable alternative to better offerings – and likely one that only unrelenting fans will be able to celebrate.
