Updated 2.5 Days Ago

I really adore this game. It has such a unique vibe that I haven’t seen since. I will say in true rockstar fashion the missions are very linear and become very repetitive, although I still enjoyed most of them. Another huge issue was the frame rate, my god carnival might have been 10 fps.Updated 1 Month Ago

The game is still as good as I remember it being, albeit a little repetitive. Only a handful of the missions are actually difficult, and the pacing seems to go from normal to breakneck speed once you hit the Jock chapter, leaving you with a pretty rushed and lame conclusion involving Gary, who barely shows up during the story for the most part. Despite the issues with the story, it still is a unique game with its own crude charm behind it, and very much fits that "Rockstar style" that their games had in the 2000s.Updated 2.5 Months Ago

Bully is a classic and I love this game. It brings back a nostalgia for the early 2000s that can't be beat. Such an entertaining game with excellent and sarcastic characters and writing that really just tops off the game as a whole.Updated 3 Months Ago

A very good Playstation 2 classic. The story is okay, the game play is dated as in 2006, but the game is fun. The characters are unique and very funny. The port to Playstation 4 is really bad tough, the frame rate drops a lot and the quantity of the sound is very bad.Updated 3 Months Ago

Story - 8.5/10Gameplay - 8.5/10
Music - 9/10
Graphics - 7/10
Overall - 8/10
Never completed this game back on the ps2 so I decided to pick it up...... only to realize it was a straight ps2 port with no enhancements. We got back the loading screens, blurry visuals and frame drops. I would be lying if I said these didn't impact my overall experience.
Story was really good and better than some GTA games as well. Good narrative with lighthearted but also some adult themes. I was glad that I could finally experience the ending, and happy that the game doesn't fall off.
Gameplay is also good. It's very unique in the things that you can do and that is obviously due to its high school setting. The controls felt a bit stiff when turning but that could be because it's a port. Mission structures were super engaging too and there's a good amount of variety.
Music was one of the best parts. It's nothing too deep and won't evoke any emotions but I enjoyed all of it.
Graphics are mid, only because it's a port. Blurry visual, few glitches....
I wouldn't really recommend anyone pick this game up unless they are really interested. There might be better ways to play the game until (hopefully) R* makes a remake or a sequel.

Fun overall. I liked the world size and such. Plenty of shortcuts and fast travel options to get around the map. I jus think time progressed a little too quickly. Like, there isn't enough time in the morning to do a mission before class. There also isn't time between classes to do a mission. If it passed half as quickly as it did, I think it would have been a lot better. The combat controls were fun, but the game was really too easy for what it was.Updated 11 Months Ago

So the thing is, I didn't really watch any PS4 gameplay before buying it. It was quite cheap, and i had seen PC gameplay before, but boy was i surprised when the game launched with a 480p cutscene, constant fps problems and a camera system that doesn't follow my inputs. As for the game, I don't even know. I had assumed that the PS4 port would have been better but it felt and pretty much looked like a PS2 game. And the reason i didn't get it on pc was because of crashes. Pls Rockstar make a remake.Updated 2 Years Ago

I think this is one of the best games on the PS2 released and one of the best Rockstar games ever. The story/writing holds up well in my opinion, and the satire found in GTA is more endearing in this game because of the characters and how fun/memorable they are. There's no other games of theirs that is as optimistic and "wholesome" in comparison, which is a nice change of pace. I also love the open world; it's small, but it feels lived-in like a small town should, and the way unique NPC's are handled means you actually learn the names of the characters you meet in missions and in running around campus (my personal favorite is Sheldon). And there's a lot of fun interactions in the game, like pulling a fire alarm and spraying everyone with a fire extinguisher to start a huge brawl. The whole social interaction system was lifted from this game and put into Red Dead 2, which goes to show how well it worked in Bully, a game from 2006. Also, the combat is super satisfying despite how basic it is and projectile weapons like bags of marbles and slingshots make pulling off pranks really fun.The only thing I disliked in replaying it was the side content. It was a lot more repetitive and boring than I remembered, but the story missions and setting hold up exceedingly well. The remaster of this game (Scholarship Edition) has a lot more content, quality-of-life features, and a better framerate (on PC, anyways), but I find most of the content not that great and the bugs to be really annoying. Still, it's a lot more accessible and feature-complete than the PS2 version, so I'd recommend that version instead.
There's so much potential in a sequel to this game, but alas, every Rockstar studio is probably hands on deck for GTAVI. Here's hoping, though!

PRO Missions that revolve around the campus are fun, so are some classesCON Game crashes a lot. Worst of all, it’s unpredictable; you will sometimes crash after exiting the first door and other times after half a chapter. This breaks the flow of the game because you always feel the need to save your progress.
CON Controls are beyond retarded, especially when using vehicles. Accelerate on the skateboard? Tap left shift repeatedly. The same on a bike? It’s changed to W now.
During biology lessons you trace lines with the mouse, but when you have to trace some shape when tagging, you can only use WASD.
The music lesson has two controls, left and right alts. Haven’t checked the left alt, but the right alt is hardcoded. WHO THE FUCK USES RIGHT ALT ON THEIR KEYBOARD?
CON There’s some kind of reputation mechanic going on, but I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do with it. Each chapter will throw missions at you that will decrease reputation with the opposing group, but at the end you’ll beat up their leader and take their place.
CON Optional missions are mostly useless.
You have some repetitive errands you can run (e.g. deliver newspapers) that will give you money, but you don’t need them, because you never run out of money. You start the game with around $15. I did nothing but progress the story and ended up with $400 by the end of chapter 3.
People on the street will come ask you for a favour. I’m not sure if this will end up increasing your reputation with some faction, but you will get some money or items by doing this. Again, this is pointless.

Amazing world. Awesome story. Excellent character. I feel that the world of bully is a bit to large for what it's going for. Like when you finish a section of the game there is almost no reason to go back to that area. The sections never really cross over, which is a shame because that would have made the game far more dynamic. The game really needs achievements, there is just to much to collect, and some times there just isn't proper incentive to do all of that. Finally the ending is pretty weak.Updated 7 Years Ago

This game perpetually sticks to one gameplain from start to end. Whenever the player meets its demise, it simply spawns itself to a certain spawn point designated by the game and its context. This spawning is done without loading to the previous latest saved game (either auto or manual save), so therefore in all technicality loses none of its progress whatsoever, perhaps only with some in-game contextual gameplay expenses. Time (even unsaved) viewing game statistics also count towards the playthrough.Updated 9.5 Years Ago

This is one of those games that defined my PS2 days, as well as what I would still consider my childhood. Bully was one of the most fun games I had available to me as a kid, I plugged hours and hours into it, beating up kids, riding bikes, doing whatever you could imagine, just because I could. This was my first GTA style game and boy did I love it. Without his, I never would have been the gamer I am today. The gameplay was addicting, I loved going to class, as well as skipping class, and the whole school mechanic was fun, I just wish they had made it longer and given a greater variety. On top of that, the characters were awesome, Jimmy was a great protagonist and Gary was also just as good a villain. Petey was also fun, being the middle man of the two and all around a likable character. The graphics were great for the time, and everything else was just addicting fun to be had. I still love this game and I still wish a sequel would be made, but I have no dreams of such ever coming to reality.Updated 11.5 Years Ago

The Good:-open-world
-funny, not all the times it tries to be but more than your average video game
-lots of things to do, even after story is completed (if you want to)
-the schoolyard is a unique setting in terms of video games
-scheduled classes give you a sense of responsibility
The Bad:
-gets repetitive
-main character is not very likable
-can't drive cars
-the map size is much smaller than GTA's maps
Lasting Appeal:
For the first half of the game, I had a blast. The second half, I was slightly bored and after I finished the main story, I decided not to bother with completing the game 100%.
Bottom Line:
For those who want to play a T-rated version of GTA, then you got your answer with Bully. But you'll start to realize that behind an overall entertaining story experience, there just isn't that huge scale felt in GTA games that will keep you sucked in them for awhile. The cut scenes also are at first are very funny in a dumb sort of way, but after awhile they seem like the same stuff. The insults eventually don't have that dumb humor and just seem dumb themselves.

Bully is an interesting game. Leading up to its release, it didn't receive the gameplay coverage or high-end expectations from insiders that Grand Theft Auto usually does, yet it somehow kept that franchise's reputation for excessive violence and adult behavior. That's why I think that in a lot of ways, Bully is going to surprise people with what it is -- ie: much better and funnier than most were giving it credit for, while coming across as much tamer than those who feared it expected it to be.Bully is a great, well-crafted action game that's been made even stronger with one of the best senses of humor around (even if you don't have the collector's edition, which is the identical game packaged with an inflatable dodgeball, mini-comic, and sticker). Expect dozens and dozens of hours of fun.
